Raj hospitals, ranchi- emergency department granted nabh certification.

Ranchi: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) have assessed the emergency department of Raj Hospitals,  and found that it complies with the Board’s standards for an accredited Hospital Emergency Department in India.
 
The Managing Director of Raj Hospitals, Ranchi Dr. Birendra said that the NABH accreditation programme sets standards for healthcare facilities in India, including emergency care services, to ensure that they meet the Best quality and safety standards. The NABH standards are currently the highest benchmark standards for quality healthcare in India.

The standards for emergency certification provides the framework for quality care and patient safety to patients admitted to the emergency department. These standards help an organisation to maintain continuous quality improvement in the various aspects of their services. . They aim at setting expectations for the provision of equitable, safe and high-quality emergency care in the country, thereby ensuring the best clinical outcomes.
 
The HOD of the Emergency Department Dr. Shyam Prasad (MD, MEM)  said that after a rigorous inspection process to validate 49 quality standards involving 255 different objective elements, Raj Hospitals has been granted this certification, making it the first and the only present day hospital in Jharkhand to get NABH quality recognition for its emergency department. He also said that the Raj Hospitals, Ranchi is already granted Full Accreditation of NABH 5th Edition for the Hospital and with the NABH Emergency our hospital has become the only hospital in the entire State of Jharkhand to achieve this feat.

He also said that the emergency department in Raj Hospitals has 10 beds equipped with all vital patient monitoring systems, point-of-care diagnostics, centralised oxygen lines, essential drugs and other equipment needed for high-quality medical care for the patients. The emergency department is also equipped with ventilators and other high-end equipments required to handle critical cases requiring immediate attention. In the emergency itself, we have managed critical cases and time-sensitive illnesses like trauma, brain stroke, myocardial infarction, Sepsis etc. 

Many times we have thrombolysed patients who had brain stroke and this led to saving of the patient's life and helped them to recover faster. The certification and standards set by NABH are going to ensure that the hospital provides safe, effective and timely care for all patients who are acutely ill or injured.
